SPRINGS RESTAURANT

Félix Candela
Xochimilco, Mexico City. Mexico, 1958
The restaurant is proposed to accommodate around 1000 people in a large room consisting of four equal hyperbolic paraboloid, curves in which the outer edges are hyperbolas. The result is a kind of water lily with near 42 m in diameter, having a height of 8.25 m. Under the dome is the room that houses a restaurant with tables and chairs on the part where the wedges are raised to make way for the metal cabinet work.
