In 1993 Lapeña Martinnez architects and Elias Torres started the project to adapt the access to Castelldefels Castle, located on top of a hill about 60 m above the sea. This Castle which dominates the south of the Delta del Llobregat and what once was an Iberian settlement and later a Roman villa stands Castelldefells.Este Castle project was to provide access to the castle from , so that due to uneven plotting went zig-zag ramps with a gentle slope to allow access to the castle in a comfortable.
These ramps for pedestrians with a distance of approximately one kilometer are supported by retaining walls on a poured concrete formwork corten steel plate folded and cut to guidelines inclined. These plates serve to finish the retaining walls extend at their upper ends to form the protective railings.
The architecture of Jose Antonio Martinez Lapeña and Elias Torres (JAMLET) is well known ingredients is full of imaginative and playful, figurations unexpected provocations, correction while professional, functional rigor and common sense. There are projects that blend both, since the subject requires it, but there are others that, also by the nature of the matter, one of the two ends extraordinarily dominates over the other until it, almost disappear.
