Polanco CAMINO REAL HOTEL
Ricardo Legorreta
Mexico.Mexico.1968 City
The stunning hotel near Chapultepec Park where the architect decided to give the building a unique personality by developing the feeling of true Mexican culture which combines modern architectural profiles with obvious pre-Hispanic pyramid reminiscences, highlighting their 33000 m2 of gardens with mature trees, pools, fountains and courtyards forming a magnificent refuge in the city life. The visitor enters through a lattice pink through to a quieter environment where the lobby. The generous public spaces and spacious rooms give the building own personality.
“I wanted to return the site to its original state, so we've built block on the rock room and public areas on stilts, and then dig what was originally the lagoon. The difference in the levels provides tidal water flow needed to keep the new pool cleaner. Stretching public areas beyond the entrance lobby bar and pool bar, restaurants .. All rooms are approached through a lush green space of the place giving great life to all common areas ”.Ricardo Legorreta.
