Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption

View from the outside

CATEDRAL DE SANTA MARIA
Pier Luigi Nervi
San Francisco.California.Estados Unidos.1965

The Cathedral is a feat of structural engineering, where even a single square, the cathedral ceiling rises four parabolic hyperboloid, giving an apparent weightlessness their vertical separation between the floor and each side partition. Four towers rise the dome, where its stained glass windows separate the different parabolic hyperboloids the nave giving a feeling of lack of effort.
